Last weekend, I journeyed north to my folks home for the weekend. Then, on Monday, three of my brothers and I went to the New York premier of John Adam’s new opera, Doctor Atomic. We got there in the morning and spent the majority of the day at the MOMA and walking about the city.

The opera was a wonderful experience, very thought provoking and inspiring. The conductor was really fine, very precise in some very complicated passages. I didn’t have anything but my point and shoot with me, but I did take a couple shots in the city. Caleb grabbed the first couple shots here of me in front of the Metropolitan Opera House.

We had a great time.

One of the items on my brother Josh’s to do list was to walk across the Brooklyn bridge, so walk across we did.

A stair case inside the MOMA.

I can’t remember who this piece was by, but it made a cool photograph.

The family went to see Wall-E last Saturday afternoon. A rare treat for us. Only on rare occasion do we venture into “The Big Movie,” as the boys call it. It is fun to see the Pixar films on a huge screen though. We all enjoyed it, and came home with new ideas. I had to grab my Point+Shoot when Henry came up with this. He’s got it down to the details. He only used three fingers on each hand for the rest of the day.
