Once upon a time there was a large blue monster.

The monster’s name was Lemuel.

Lemuel was sad because no one wanted to play with him.

Canon 5d MkII

I finally got my hands on a Canon 5d MkII today for the first time and got to try out the video feature. Very cool stuff. I’m looking forward to a couple big video projects I’ve booked for this year. Shooting felt really natural to me, more than I thought it might. I’m hoping Nikon releases something more along those lines soon. We’ll see what happens.

Mollie got the boys these plates for Christmas. They love them, and we no longer have to take turns with the red plate. Here are a couple snaps with the iPhone. For some reason, I just keep posting iPhone images. I realize one shot is probably enough, but if I post Henry’s I better post Jude’s.

Citation Encore + Executive Controller

November 11, 2008 | Filed Under General | 1 Comment

Last week I photographed a Citation Encore for a new client of mine. The final exterior image will be in the upcoming issue of the Executive Controller, an international aircraft buyers periodical.

It was decided to do a night shoot so we could get the plane to pop a little bit off the page. I loved the idea, but it did present some difficult problems that I’d have to figure out. In the days leading up to the shoot I tracked down as many lights as I could find and went on a scouting trip to pick a good location.

There were several people involved to make this happen. First, thanks to Chris for helping me at the shoot, and for his great work in post production. Thanks to Robert for lending me some additional lights, they were a must have. Thanks to David, friend and photographer, for helping me think through the lighting before the day of the shoot. And, thanks to my client for giving me the opportunity.

If you’re in the market for a private jet, let me know, I’ve got the sweet hookups.
